Television: Mirror Dance

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to let people know that the documentary Mirror Dance will air on the PBS series Independent Lens on Tuesday November 15. You can check local listings at pbs.

Mirror Dance tells the story of Margarita and Ramona de Saa. Born identical twins, the sisters grew up to become acclaimed ballerinas with the National Ballet of Cuba. Margarita left for America, while Ramona stayed in Cuba. The documentary follows their lives from professional ballet dancers to professional ballet masters and Margarita's return to Cuba after 40 years.

Thank you for the update on the documentary. Margarita de Saa is a very lovely person. Many warm memories of her as an excellent teacher and a kind person! Can't wait to see it. :bouncing:

Thanks for the information - I wish we could see the program, but it's not running in the LA area! Different Independent Lens shows are playing instead. :bouncing:

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully they will air it in the future. There was a screening a few weeks ago at the Latino Film Festival in LA. It was well received.

I asked the producers about the airing in LA and they believe it will be on at 11pm on the 19th. They suggested that once you get into the PBS link and you search for local listing times for the documentary use the zip code feature instead of the state feature.

epend, thank you for the information about the LA market. I think that I will tape it, instead of trying to stay up and watch it. What an ugly time to show this film! :yucky:
