Guest pink tutu379
Hello mods and everyone! I have always had a trouble turning and i get very frustrated with myself, I expect to be doing 4 pirouettes. Anyways, I usually do clean doubles and if im lucky a tripple, everynow and then. Well yesterday I happened to do 5 pirouettes for the first time and i kept on doing 4 and 5, plus i did alot of fouettes(more than i usually do), and then this morning i go to class and i can only do doubles and 2 tripples. Is there such thing called "bad turning days"? And if i only have done that once does it mean it was like once in a year time thing or what? Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Yes, there are days when you feel more centered, and are able to get to where you belong more easily than on other days. This doesn't have to be a fluke. When this happens to you again, try to feel where everything is, and concentrate on doing that every time. You won't get it right away, but things will improve. That's the way advancement happens. Quote Link to comment
Guest pointedancer518
I have the same problem. I did four pirouettes the other day, but after that I couldn't do more than a triple or I would fall off pointe. I would like to know what I can do so I can consistently do four or five turns. Mel Johnson
Be ready for the next time it happens; then copy what you did! Quote Link to comment
toedancer
I definitely have good and bad turning days. Most of the time on bad turning days I am able to find a spare moment to work on my turns in class. Sometimes it just takes a little extra effort. There are days though that I can't turn to save my life, no matter how hard I try. Quote Link to comment
dance_4_eternity
I have this problem all the time. Yesterday I did 6 pirouettes. (Yesss! ) But the day before I was doing hops in my doubles. My teacher said just to memorize how you feel in your good turns and remember what muscels you used, and you should be able to do 6 again. I'm glad im not the only one who can do alot of turns one day and then hop my tripples or doubles! thanks alot Quote Link to comment
