Sounds like overwork of the hip flexors. Are you supporting your extensions from underneath? Are you sure?

Oh, you can't do extensions without them, but they have to be supported by deeper muscles and other structures. It's a tough thing to learn, but millions before have done it! :D

To define the muscles involved, we're talking here about the muscles which lift the thigh toward the torso. These are the Iliacus, the Psoas Major, and the Rectus Abdominis. This last is also a Quadricep but also acts as a hip flexor as well as a knee extensor, especially when the legs are well-rotated from the hip.
