Guest tutusenpointe
ok this has probably been asked many times.. but, i've been working really hard to get my extensions up but they just dont seem to be happening. what can i do to build strength and bring up my extensions? i initially thought of using weights at the ankle but decided against it when i read somewhere(could be here!) that its really bad and strenous on the knees.. i know extensions are more than just flexibility, its the strength part that i cant get. help pleasE!! Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted December 9, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted December 9, 2005 tutusenpointe, getting the strength to maintain extensions takes time, lots of time! That strength usually doesn not develop until you have passed the major part of your growing years, somewhere between 13-15. Your ballet classes will develop that strength, eventually Link to comment
biners6
The age thing is really interesting-I had wondered why my extension had seemed to reach a set point in those years, and then the past few years has really been improving (I'm 18 now)...that would explain it...not to mention that classes have gotten much harder with a lot of sustained developpés!
