Pointeyourfeet
How can you tell how much to bevel your foot to create a good line, without making it look bad/obvious? Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
You can bevel it if you can't point your foot and have it look like it's straight any other way. It's a last-ditch measure that most people don't need. Quote Link to comment
kellyisthebestintheworld
what is beveling? I googled it but it came up with a bunch of wall shower type stuff, I'm thinking it's probably not that. Is it like winging or something? Quote Link to comment
americanlostinUK
yeah, bevelling is the same as winging....not sure if i was allowed to answer that question, sorry if i wasn't Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted December 25, 2005 Administrators Report Share Posted December 25, 2005 Yes, alinUK, you are right, and it's okay to answer that one Winging or beveling can be used, with GREAT care, only when instructed by a teacher in order to help someone achieve a better line if they don't have enough rotation and the ability to find that line without it. It should never be done without being shown exactly how to do it and how much to use it, and it must be very carefully monitored or it quickly becomes just an ugly unpointed foot! It is not recommended in most cases. Quote Link to comment
Guest dancing<><piper
It should never be done without being shown exactly how to do it and how much to use it, and it must be very carefully monitored or it quickly becomes just an ugly unpointed foot! I have noticed this in many dance advertisements...the model's feelt look horrible because she can't point properly and wings her toes. Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Yes, and the glitzy photography makes students want to have a winged point. They can even be dangerous if you try to step on them. Quote Link to comment
