Guest Lotsoflaughs924
My teacher says that when I go on pointe, I'm not putting enough weight on my feet or something. She tells me to push more and I do and then it lloks normal but it feels horrible in my knees. Help! Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Apart from welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers, let me ask how long you've studied, and how many classes you take a week. Quote Link to comment
Guest Lotsoflaughs924
I've studied about seven years and take 3 times a week Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 3, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted January 3, 2006 And what do those 3 times a week consist of, in terms of hours of technique and pointe? If you are only 13, that would be minimum in terms of readiness for pointe, but if you are older than 13 then you should have more training than that. Quote Link to comment
Guest Lotsoflaughs924
Basically the classes are an hour and a half and it's the pre-pointe class, although some can go on pointe in this class. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 3, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted January 3, 2006 You did not answer the age question, however, once you start pointe work, there needs to be a dedicated time for the pointe work, separate from the 3 technique classes. Guest Lotsoflaughs924
I figured out the problem, and it's quite stupid: My shoes weren't broken in! Quote Link to comment
