Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 4, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted January 4, 2006 Hello deliriousdancer24, welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers What is "idk"? We don't use abbreviations here, as not everyone understands them. Please write out the words for us Quote Link to comment

Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted January 4, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted January 4, 2006 That makes sense, but, the point is that we have members from all over the world here, and they will not know these things, so, we try to write in English Quote Link to comment
Guest deliriousdancer24
Yeah.... Sorry, it does mean "I don't know". Quote Link to comment
Guest pointedancer518
I know exactly what you are talking about, deliriousdancer24. I get that way if I haven't had a break from dancing in a while or when all of my friends start talking about what they are going to be "when they grow up". I have gone back and forth on wether or not to keep dancing, but the truth is, I love it and I can't think of anything else that I could more happier doing. Quote Link to comment

Skye90
This seems a buddy board topic....but I just had to say that no I don't generally get that feeling. I know that's quite unique, but ballet is my total excitement and going to class is generally a dream. I always feel excited (you'd think the excitement would have worn off after 9 years, but it hasn't). Sometimes I feel sleepy, or unwell, but ballet is the thing I want to do regardless. And I hope that never changes! Quote Link to comment
Guest pinkroses
I sometimes feel that way. After a very discouraging class I feel really un-motivated and depressed. I have one teacher whose class always makes me feel horrible about myself. Just keep going, and think about why you love ballet and hold on to it! Quote Link to comment
Tiiny Dancerx33
Same here ...but I always come back to my normal everyday ballet obsession!! Quote Link to comment
RightLeftMiddle
I sometimes feel the same way. I go to class anyway and i just know i should be there and it just feels right. If the feeling doesnt go away, i have breaks at my school, so you should like relax and just not think about it. Maybe the feeling will go away, but there was a time when i felt like that and i just kept dancing and im fine. Quote Link to comment
MeAgain
Oh my goodness, I feel like this almost every single day! I always wonder to myself, "Why do I dance? All I do is work, work, work, and all I get back is nothing. It's stupid. It's a waste of time." And then, I think of class. I remember the joy I feel when I finally get down that triple pirouette. And I think of performing. I think of the joy of being up there, on the stage, waiting for that moment when I pour my heart into a little solo peice for all the audience to see. I remember the rush of energy I feel when I run onstage for the snow scene in The Nutcracker. And then I think, what would I do if I'd never experienced any of these things? And that, that is what makes me want to dance. (lol I feel like a poet. Anyway, have fun, and please keep on dancing! Where would the world be without it! ) Quote Link to comment
