high arches and compressible feet

I'm wondering what people know about high-arched feet and foot strength. I've been told that a very arched foot can be hard to go en pointe with. I've also read about "compressible feet." What exactly are they?

I don't have aspirations to pointe. My problem is simply that on demi-pointe I fall over too much. I generally have good balance, it just feels like my foot is made of elastic. Is this a compressible foot? In fact it seems like this is getting worse as times goes on, and I'd hoped that my feet would get stronger.

When I re-started ballet last year I thought my high arches were an asset, but not so sure now. Would love to hear from others with similar experiences and/or knowledge.
