Guest iheartashton847
I honestly have no idea where this would belong, so feel free to move it miss leigh or mr johnson. Welllll...MY problem is that I have a very unique hairstyle, to my chin in the front and very short in the back, kind of like the opposite of a mullet, but a little longer in the back. Now you probably already know what my question is going to be, but here goes anyways: How can I make it look like it is in a bun for recital, I used to have longer hair so buns were never really a problem for me, so now I have no idea what to do, and my teacher is absolutely NO help! thank you very much Quote Link to comment
Guest pinkroses
You can find fake buns that come in different hair colors. Gel your hair back or put in in a ponytail if possible and attach one. For class, hair gel or clips should work. Quote Link to comment
Guest Iwishtobeonpoint
i have very short hair too and I use lots of hair spray and gel. I don't use fakies except for recitals. Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
For class, even the old-fashioned hairnet and snood over all will work fine. Quote Link to comment
Guest iheartashton847
thank you very much, and mr johnson i would use ahairnet, but my hair isnt long enough to put in one Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
I'm referring to a cap-type hairnet, which fits over your entire crown. It may be crochet, to make it close-fitting. Quote Link to comment

Mel Johnson
That's an attachment. If necessary, a partial or complete wig. Quote Link to comment
Guest star_reacher
Some of my friends have troubles with short hair, but somehow they get through it with hair clips and such. My dad always says that buns seem like such a problem to put up. So he says that I should get a crew-cut and just stick a sticky-cinnamon bun on my head,(to substitute a real bun.) Hehehehe! I do seem to think that that would be a lot easier, and then after you can just eat it. Yumm!! I am just joking, I hope you know that!! I hope that you find an easy way to do your hair!! Good luck! And yes I know you are joking, and being a dancer, I cant really afford to be eating a sticky bun every time I have class:) Quote Link to comment
Guest jballet
When I had REALLY short hair (basically what you're describing), I used to do little french braids in the front because they look neater than clips and also stay in better. I don't know what kind of hairstyle is expected for your recital but if you could do the braids in the front and put the hairpiece in the back, it may not look as fake. Sometimes, slicking your hair back with some gel and wadding some fake hair on top just doesn't look very natural. Anyways, I hope you find something that works Quote Link to comment
Perfectpointe731
If your hair is long enough to put in a ponytail, get a "donut", which is a puffy foam ring that goes around your ponytail. Stick your ponytail through the donut and wrap and pin your hair around the donut and put a net over it, and voila, it will look like a real bun! Quote Link to comment
dreamtodance
hey, a good thing to do is get one of those fake hair scrunchies and pin it to your hair becuse it is easier to pin on that way, then slick your real hair back after so , the put a hair net on the scrunchie and vwaola!
