Guest sally-mandy
Dear All, Can someone tell me what compressible feet are? I tried this question a few weeks ago. I have tried a search but can't really figure out what the term means. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted February 16, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted February 16, 2006 Sally-mandy, try checking out the Pointe Shoe Forum. Danielle DeVor has explained this over there, and she does it much better than I can! Quote Link to comment
Guest sally-mandy
Thanks, Ms Leigh. I guess it is an issue that matters when people go en pointe? I am not going to do that. So maybe I need to ask about flexible feet. Mine are flexible, but I fall off demi-pointe easily--more than I used to 6 months ago. Is it because I just don't have the strength I need yet? Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted February 16, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted February 16, 2006 Sounds like ankle strength not as good as it could be, but, it could also stem from alignment and weight placement issues, ab strength, and even quad and calf strength. So, you need to talk to your teacher and try to determine where the weaknesses are and what to do to strengthen these areas. Pilates might be helpful for you. Quote Link to comment
Guest sally-mandy
Thank you. I'm starting Pilates and will ask my teacher for more info since she can see my feet. Quote Link to comment
Guest pink tights
. It certainly will not replace a good pilates class--but I do think it's a nice supplement. Quote Link to comment
