I started dancing at a very relaxed studio. After that I moved to a more advanced studio and I have not only caught up to, but am ahead of most of the girls in my class. I am wanting to go to a Summer Intensive, but I do not know if I am ready for this. How do you know when your ready? The audition for the intensive I am looking at is next Saturday and I don't really know what to excpect.

I too was in your position. I grew up in a small studio, and then moved to a much larger pre-professional studio. I also wanted to attend a summer intensive, but was worried if I was ready. The # 1 piece of advice I can give you is look around! Go visit the intensives you might want to go to. If possible audition on site, so you can get aquainted with the grounds. Depending on the time of year, your parents can also call and get a great amount of information for you. There is no set age on when you should go to an intensive. If you feel that you would benefit from studying intensly over the summer, and that it would help improve you dancing, then I would say its a great idea. Talk to your parents and a your dance teachers, they can probably give you some good advice about this! Hope this helped! :)
