Late Pointe Shoes

About three weeks ago I realized that I needed new pointe shoes. So I went down to the dance shop that is part of our building and ordered a new pair. That's where my problem comes in, my pointe shoes back- ordered and i have not been on pointe for almost three weeks! My teachers are starting to get annoyed,I can tell! :) My level is practicing for the spring performance and 2/3 of my dances are on pointe, should I wear my old ones and stand the pain? I am really nervous that my teachers will kick me out of the dance if I dont' get them soon!

I would suggest trying a different shoe, at least temporarily.

That's nice, but I would suggest you try something else if you need pointe shoes NOW.

I have no idea what is available at Nutmeg's Ballet Shop. Talk to the people there and your teachers.

If your old shoes are dead, you could try jet. It's like super glue and it makes your shoes harder. You can use it in the box or on the shank. However, I've heard that Gaynor Mindens are made differently then regular pointe shoes-so I don't know if it would work. You can get it in Discount Dance, but I'm sure if you ask around someone will let you borrow it. Be warned though-when they say instantly bonds skin-there not kiddin'. Past experiences have been pretty bad. :blushing: Hehe.
