Homeschooled Ballerina!

L' Allegro

Recommended Posts

I'm homeschooled and I love ballet. I have met only ONE homeschooled dancer in my WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE! (ok, I've only been alive 15 years) Does anybody else out there homeschool AS WELL AS dance? Do you think it gives you more time for ballet? (i know it gives me OODLES of more time for ballet!) I've also noticed that I always have more energy than my public school peers... what does everyone here think about homeschooled dancers?

L'Allegro, there are a number of threads about home schooled dancers here on this board! We have a LOT of students who are home schooled! Type home school into the search feature on the YD board

I was a homeschooled dancer up until this year. This year i decided to go back to school. It's way easier being homeschooled and dancing...or at least thats what i found. When dancing numerous days a week its hard to get homework done.

I'm homeschooled, too!! (and it looks like we're both from new england!)

It's so much easier being homeschooled when training to be a dancer. I've been homeschooled all my life, but I'm going to go to a public highschool in ninth grade. I don't know how I'll find the time for dance, and my training will probably suffer greatly. It's going to be so hard adapting, and I have no idea how regular public schoolers do it.

lol I think every dancer should be homeschooled, it gives you much more energy/time for actually dancing!

Hey! I am homeschooled. I really think it is easier doing ballet as a homeschooler because you have more flex time. I also like it because while I am reading I can stretch!!!

I am homeschooled too!i think my friends at ballet are jealous of me because they have no free time to practice dancing and they always come in with tired faces,i am always full of energy and ready to go!this is awsome,i too have never met a homeschooled dancer in my life as well, well, only in my 13 years of life! :(

I was homeschooled all my life, but this year i went to high school. It is more work, which gives me less time for the computer or T.V. Doesn't effect my time for ballet :D

I am also homeschooled, but next year I will take a few public school classes as a fresh(wo)man! I think homeschooling does help , because if I was public schooled, I would need to get out of school early, and my school district isn't big on that.

Hey, I’m home schooled too! I didn't know there was this much home schooled ballet students. I have been switching off and on between public school and being home schooled. I LOVE being home schooled! It is so much easier with my ballet schedule and I think I have learned more then going to public school. Next year I'm going to start taking the ballet classes that are offered by the high school. I'm going to be a freshwoman next year too, but I'll still be home schooled.

I take half the day at high school and the other half of the day I do online classes which I can do at my own pace. I find it gives me much more freedom to focus on my dance and plus if I need a rehearsal earlier in the day I am able to schedule that and then work on my schooling during the weekend or something. I guess you could say I'm half homeschooled then I love it!! I wouldn't change it for anything.
