hart
We have been working on consecutive pirouettes from fifth position in my syllabus class. These are not pretty. What are the most important aspects of the preparation and landings in these? I can do one pirouette but seem to lack the control and timing for doing several. Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted March 31, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 Using the push front the FRONT foot. Get the retiré leg into 5th with enough weight on it to use it to push into the next turn, but don't "settle" into that 5th. It should be a very quick 5th, and a long "up" on the turn. dianec
I've been really struggling with these - I miss the impetus that starting from 4th gives you. As Ms Leigh says, not settling into the plie is important but for me working on a deeper plie at the same time seems to have helped. Quote Link to comment
