Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 1, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted April 1, 2006 We don't allow images. You do do have a color there. You can edit out those brackets. Quote Link to comment
Nutmegdancer
but i did purple,i will try again... Nutmegdancer it does not work,i tried green and red,all i got was blue, how do i get quotes? i am so frustrated! Nutmegdancer Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 1, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted April 1, 2006 You put the quote in yourself. In the box where you put your signature. I don't know why the color is not working, but obviously you are not doing something right. You have to click on the color, post the signature, then click again on the color. Quote Link to comment

Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 2, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted April 2, 2006 Nutmegdancer, I love your enthusiasm, and your willingness to correct things! It doesn't matter what browser you use, because there is no spell check on Ballet Talk. Unfortunately. However, it would never handle all the French terms anyway! Quote Link to comment
Nutmegdancer
you are funny,i am a good speller when it comes to English words, but when it comes to another language,i am clueless! Nutmegdancer Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted April 2, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted April 2, 2006 My thoughts on this, Nutmegdancer, are that is is part of your job as a dancer to learn the language of your art! That does not mean that you must learn to speak French fluently, (although that would be great too!), but it does mean that you need to learn the vocabulary of ballet, including the meanings and the spelling of the terms. If it is not taught to you in classes, then get yourself a simple $5.00 copy of Gail Grant's Technical Manual and Dictionary of Classical Ballet. This is the "dancer's bible" for vocabulary, and every dancer should have it. Or, if you can afford it, or ask for it as a gift for your birthday or some other holiday, then get Gretchen Ward Warren's wonderful book called Classical Ballet Technique. It's a big book, full of wonderful photos that demonstrate everything. It's about $35 at Amazon.com (click on link, above), Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc. Quote Link to comment
