There's a trailer up for Gwendolyn Cates' Jock Soto documentary: "Water Flowing Together"

WATER FLOWING TOGETHER is a portrait of internationally renowned ballet dancer, Jock Soto, who retired this June after being a principal with the New York City Ballet for nearly 25 years. Filmmaker Gwendolen Cates bears witness to the last two years of his career, presenting an intimate journey into the legacy of this significant American artist. Weaving interview, verite, archival, performance and rehearsal footage, the film traces the course of Jock's exceptional life and career, exploring his multicultural heritage, his rise in the ballet world, and ultimately revealing the private person. The style of the film reflects the subject; natural, organic, with a quick wit and an inviting smile, providing a unique and intimate look at the world of ballet while examining universal themes of family, identity and transition.

Retiring at 40, Jock commented, "All I knew was how to dance." The sacrifice of this man for his art illuminates the reality of a life in ballet. The film is testimony to the remarkable commitment, athleticism, and determination of ballet dancers.

WATER FLOWING TOGETHER is currently in post production.
