balletbaby183
My school play is coming up and I am the lead dancer. I have to do about 12 fuetees (on flat of course! 12 fuetees en pointe?!? )(really sorry about the spelling) in my dance. The problem is, we have the WORST stage for dancing. It's this slippery, hollow, icky wood floor. I slip in every rehersal. There is no way to change the dance, and obviously they can't put down marley. Is there anything that I could put on my shoes maybe? thanks, balletbaby183 Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted May 3, 2006 Administrators Report Share Posted May 3, 2006 Have you tried rosin? Get some from your studio and take it with you and put it in a little box offstage. Step in it before you go out on stage, but careful of too much, or you won't be able to turn at all! dancerguy
I had the same problem at my school. I ended up hair spraying the bottom of my shoes about 2 minutes before I went onstage. You'll want to use an old pair of shoes though, mine were pretty messed up afterwards. Good Luck! Quote Link to comment
Doubleturn
If you aren't allowed rosin you can try just wetting the soles of your ballet shoes with plain water. Quote Link to comment
