bailando
(teen here) Just wondering all of your preferences I love Danskin, the mesh seamed convertibles #32 and the NYCB seamed convertibles. I wear theatrical pink because I hate the peachy-ness of Danskin's ballet pink. Quote Link to comment
WendyMichelle
Hey there, I prefer the Capezio 1816 convertible. I think that is the number. They are super super super soft and feel nice on my skin. I usually wear the light color (not sure if it's the European or Theatrical, they almost look white). They match the Russian Pointes I wear nicely. I think a lot of the girls in my class wear the Danskin mesh seamed convertible. That's what they look like to me anyways. =) WM Quote Link to comment
appleblossom
Does anyone know a brand of hipster stockings? i hate the way the band feels around my stomach.... Or even some with a really wide band so the pressure was evenly spread? Quote Link to comment
Guest pink tights
Pretty sure Bloch makes hipster tights. Quote Link to comment

ashatNYU
appleblossom (love your user name by the way), Capezio makes hipster tights as well, but they tend to run a little smaller in the hip measurement than the regular waist high tights. Quote Link to comment
Guest ratherbedancin
Danskin's NYCB line makes a hipster tight that is footless and comes in black. I love them! They're great for hot days or even wearing over your leo when you're in the mood for wering somethign different. Quote Link to comment
anb717
I swear by Bloch's Hip-Star tights. Those are my normal class tights. For performances, I really the Danskin mesh tights. Quote Link to comment
iloveballet
appleblossom, Try the Gaynor Minden convertible tights. The waistband is not really elastic; it's more of a very stretchy knit. Also, the waistband is wide, and it sits flat against my body so that no flesh goes rolling over. I really love them. Quote Link to comment
Momof3darlings
Capezio makes Studio Basics tights now that have a wide band. And I believe Sansha's new convertible tights have a wide band also but not sure. Eurotard also has a wide band tight. Most everyone makes low hip tights now as an option also. Quote Link to comment
appleblossom
You guys are awesome, thanks for all your help. I especially love the sound of the Gaynor Mindens, but that brand can be so expensive here in australia.... As to the name appleblossom, it's a nickname that my boyf has for me - i dont know why but he calls me his little apple blossom... (i know sickening isnt it. ) Quote Link to comment

Allaboutdance.com is having a special right now--buy a GM leotard and get a pair of GM tights free. Alas, they only have two styles of the GM leos, and they're not the pretty lace cap one. One's a tank and one's a cami, and they only come in black. But they're still nice, and the price isn't too bad. Just an FYI! BTW, I love the super soft Capezio tights. I bought a pair of Hold & Stretch tights, and they feel like they are ripping the skin off my inner thighs! I don't wear them unless I absolutely have to! Lisa Quote Link to comment
ashatNYU
Yes Lisa! I bought a pair of the Hold and Stretch Capezio tights by accident once ... NEVER AGAIN. I don't really know what they mean by "hold" or "stretch" becasue I find they do neither. They are impossible to get on and are awfull uncomfortable when they are on! Quote Link to comment
dancer5
I actually really like the Capezio Hold and Stretch style tights! I have two pairs of the black stirrup style and I think they look very slimming. Of course, there is nothing I hate more than saggy tights. I also like the Grishko pink seamed mesh convertible tights. I always pull them up around my ribcage so the waistband doesn't bunch up. If I wear any style of tights over a leotard, I simply pull them up high and then fold them over so they sit at the hip since I have a very short torso compared to my leg length. A little more generous across the backside than my other energetiks leotards. Quote Link to comment
