ok I'm a begginer on point, I'm doing pretty well but I noticed that my feet are sickled. I think it might be because my shoes have some extra space, but I'm not sure, I also know it could be due to turnout. Maybe I should get some new pointe shoes? If anybody knows about this, please give me some info!

sickled feet are from putting the weight on your little toes, you should be putting all your weight on your big toe.

if their is too much space in your pointe shoes go for another fitting for new pointe shoes in a smaller size.

Hello, Nisey, and welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers. :)

It's a far more basic problem than would be started or aggravated by pointe shoes. It's a shortness and unstretchedness of the inside connective tissues of the foot, the ones on the sides of the feet with the big toes on them. You have to learn how to point your feet straight in ballet slippers, making a direct line between the kneecap and the end of the big toe. You can do this by practicing nearly endless tendus, making sure that the point of the foot does not sickle, and supplement by stretching with the hands and/or a theraband, to pull the front of the foot into line.

SPF1, students are not allowed to give advice on the Young Dancers Forum. Teacher/Moderators answer the questions here. After they have answered, IF you have anecdotal information, NOT advice, that would be okay.
