I noticed that this school was missing from the list of Pre-Pro Schools, so I decided to start a thread on it. What does everyone think about this program?

My daughter attended one week of open classes offered at Festival. This is a more self-tailored program which allows students to take classes when it is convenient for them. Although it is not officially part of their summer intensive, per se, the faculty was the same. It is ideal for students who may not be able to commit to a longer summer intensive, are too young for one, or may be preparing for Festival's intensive or another intensive elsewhere. Classes are offered for young children through adults and can be paid for on a per class basis or by purchasing a class card per the number of classes in a given week's program (which may include ballet, pointe, pilates, etc.).

There was some question as to where to place my daughter so she was evaluated for proper placement. She was pleased with the level of challenge and would definitely return. We were told that this is a Vaganova based program. Other students we know who have attended this program have also felt properly challenged.

Festival Ballet offers a wide range of classes during the year and allows students who have previously attended to participate in classes on a drop in basis (we do not live in RI, therefore, full year round attendance is not an option).

I have attened the FBP SI for the past two summers. The SI is a wonderful program. It's pretty small, so attention is well divided, they always bring in a good guest faculty [Madame Legat, Tomi Vukovic, Adriana Suarez, Carol Roderick, Ana Lobe, Elena Solovieva..]. It is also a joy to have some company members drop in and take classes. The facilities are great. Mary Ann, the school director, is a wonderful person. I was inured this summer, so she got me PT easily. The students that attend FBP during the year who also attended the SI had very good technique. If you have any other questions about the SI, feel free to ask.

I went to Festival when I was ten and I had Madame Legat and Tommi (I don't know his last name), Festival taught me self discipline and how to hold my arms, both very important lessons. I would recomend it to anyone who wants to improve overall.

I'm hoping someone will be able to update on the current "graduates" (if any) in this program and what their plans are for next year. If they have company positions, please let us know if those are trainee, apprentice, corp and then male/female. This information helps others track the true success of the program from year to year.

Is there anyone who has any experience with this program who can talk about it? I would love to hear about the quality of the teaching, the level of motivation among the students, where graduates go for additional training or college, etc.
