fandango
My favorite place to take class while on vacation was Stella Dance Academy in Costa Mesa, but they moved and their forwarding phone is not working. Any suggestions for other places for beginner-intermediate class? Quote Link to comment
gogators
Two places that I'm familiar with, of which both offer open adult beginning/intermediate/advanced ballet classes: Ballet Pacifica, Irvine (949) 851-9930 (Class schedule posted at http://balletpacifica.org/2006schedule.htm) West Coast Dance Academy, Mission Viejo (949) 829-5911 (Class schedule posted at http://wcdanceacademy.com/schedule.pdf) Both places offer excellent instruction! Good luck! Quote Link to comment
Sabastianni
Does an "open" class mean that one can just show up? I often travel to the Irvine area for work (I live near Buffalo, NY) and I really dislike having to miss my classes when I travel. Are these classes I could attend when I'm in the Irvine area? Any suggestions for other places for beginner-intermediate class? Stella Dance Academy merged with West Coast Dance Academy in December 2005. West Coast Dance Academy (25732 Taladro Circle, Mission Viejo 92691, 949.829.5911). Stela Viorica is on faculty and teaches a few open adult classes. Quote Link to comment

I know people that just show up to take an open class. You just need to bring your checkbook or cash to pay for the class before it starts. Quote Link to comment
fandango
I have taken open classes in the past from Stela and she is quite good--so thanks for helping me find a link to her, missg. And thanks, gogators, for the links to Ballet Pacifica and West Coast Dance Academy. I appreciate all your help! Quote Link to comment
latindancerguy
Try orangecountydancestudios.com for a listing of dance studios in OC, listed by city. It's not strictly ballet, so you may have to make some phone calls to the studios in the area you're looking for. Jimmie Defore's studio in Costa Mesa has a wide selection of classes, and Laguna Beach Ballet Studio has good instructors; both studios are listed there. Quote Link to comment
