Chronus24
For my studio's nutcracker, the waltz of the flowers is a pas de sis, 3 guys and 3 girls. Being one of the guys, I'm having problems with my partner cause of height. Its not that she's entirely too tall, but she's right on the cusp of height with me. Some of the poses with my hands on her wrist are strained cause I'm short, and one lift where I lift her in a fish pose is clumsy at best. Granted today was only the first rehearsal, but are there any tricks for being a short guy with a tall girl? (For the record, I'm not THAT short, just 5'10, but my partner is like 5'7 or 5'8 on flat, and a good deal taller on pointe, not even counting her long limbs). Quote Link to comment
MJ
Chronus, i would let the Choreo know. He will observe the two of you and determine what the issues are, and see if changes are necessary. The fish takes a lot of practice, I'm sure you will perform exceedingly well. Merde! citibob
A man asks a New York cab driver, "How do you get to Carnegie Hall?" The cabbie answers, "Practice, practice, practice." Quote Link to comment
