MJ
After hundred (s?) of hours rehearsing, and 8 perfromances, I find the Tch. score running through my head! Five days after our final perfromance the music is finally subsiding. It was maddening for a few days. Mike Quote Link to comment

lampwick
Yeah, I've had 6 or 7 performances every weekend. 3 more to go! VERY TIRED. VERY SLEEPY Quote Link to comment
jimpickles
When this happens to me, I try to sing a very boring and repetitive tune in my head, to compete with it - baa baa black sheep works very well. That shuts the ballet music up! Does anyone else do this? Jim. Quote Link to comment
Guest pink tights
While I was shopping last week, I heard the Sugar Plum Fairy variation---with a rap track. Aargh.... Quote Link to comment

Small Slipper
A RAP track? You are kidding me! Almost as horrible as the day I heard the Village People singing N-O-E-L to the tune of YMCA <shudders> Not ballet related but funny... Quote Link to comment
Guest pink tights
Unfortunately, I'm not kidding. T'was your basic Sugar Plum theme with a rap track. I left the store without making a purchase.... Quote Link to comment
thedancingj
When I lived right in the city, I would always take myself out to a concert at a really noisy local rock club to pound all the classical music out of my head.... Quote Link to comment
Fiz
I don't believe you guys! I love Tchaik! My youngest went to sleep to his ballet music for about three years! What I have problems with is unexpected pop songs that come from no-where (and usually don't like) and they do drive me crazy! I have to say, I've never been in a long run of anything and even the best of anything gets repetative! Happy Chistmas to everyone on the site , including the moderators - you are all great! appleblossom
For me when a hook of a song gets stuck in my head the way to get it out is to listen to the song uninterrupted in its entirety. I don't know why but it's always seemed to work for me. Then again thats usually for 3 minute pop songs, not entire classical works.... LOL Quote Link to comment
