Calf stretching

Does anyone have any good calf stretches for someone with super long achilles tendons? My calves have a tendency to become very tight, but it's hard to stretch them because my achilles are so long. :) A couple of my teachers at ABT Austin SI told me that this contributed to my horrible shin splints!

Perhaps there is more going on here that just anatomy? Are you carrying your weight too far forward perhaps? That would make your calves have to grip and therefore, tighten.


If not, then I would make sure you do some good hamstring exercises, prior to working calves. Perhaps massage the calves as well.
