pinkpineapple239
Hi! Not sure if this is the right forum for this... Anyways I think I'm going to be moving pretty soon and I was wondering if anybody knew what the deal was for Performance opportunities at Festival Ballet in Providence RI. I noticed there nutcracker only goes up to kids who are 5'4". I am 5'7" and was wondering if there were other opportunities for performing. Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
It would strike me that it's a little late to be planning for this year's Christmas season, but Festival Ballet isn't the only act in town. There's always the Mother of Them All in the State of Rhode Island, the State Ballet of Rhode Island. An appreciable plurality of the dance companies presently instate have staff, faculty and dancer connections to the old company. Bear in mind that in Rhode Island, the longest commute you're likely to have is one hour, and that's in bad traffic. Like almost everything else in Rhode Island, there seem to be more dance schools per square mile than you can shake a stick at. Because of the density, Rhode Islanders are the most friendly and accommodating people in the world, along with Hawaii. It must be something to do with small states; everybody seems to know everybody else! However, as to Festival Ballet, they have a Junior Company, too, and so does SBRI. Quote Link to comment
