Yes, the leotards do sound rather expensive. :blushing: Judging by the price, I would not even look at the link. :)

Yeah they are expensive for leotards, but you can see from the pictures how beautifully cut they are, and how well put together they are. They aren't just a front and back piece, they are are properly made like a tutu type bodice with many panels and are therefore beautiful fitting and do indeed improve your body shape beautifully and flatter it nicely. They're also good because they give you a sleeker shape and still in exams can disguise an odd mistake such as moving your ribs out of alignment slightly in a grand battement. I'm not saying this is a good thing all the time, but in an exam if you make a mistake once that you don't normally make it can pull your marks down which in a way is kinda unfair... but don't worry, you won't be disguising your mistakes in class, your teacher will soon spot something that is recurring, even in an amazing leotard! I have one of a similar price (£50 about $100) but not from degas, but from the pictures in degas i can see they're much the same as one of theirs, the way it's made even the fabric, and I love it, but I would say only get one to wear in an odd class where you feel like a bit of luxury (and that way you are weraing a normal leotard too in classes for your teacher to spot mistakes easier), but don't be too hasty about getting one if you are growing fast at the moment. I waited until I was 14 and had levelled off in height a bit more to get mine, because as they are so beautifully fitted, they don't really grow with you that much... basically if you feel like a little luxury sometimes, and don't mind paying the price, go for one!

I agree! They are absolutely gorgeous! Too bad I don't have the money to spend on them. I really like the ones that are low cut, the models that they chose look like the leo was made just for them!

I absolutely love the degas leotards. I used to order them from France and they used to take forever to ship but since now they are in the usa it is much easier. These leotards are so flattering and such a good quality, they last for years! They also have tons of awesome colors. They are a tad expensive so sometimes I buy them from my friends when they grow out of them. But Chanukah and Christmas are coming up soon...

Degas leotards are my favorite! One or two are always on my Christmas or birthday list becuase they are so expensive that those are the only times I dare ask for one! But the price is worth it! Don't get lycra, get the other fabric. (I can't remeber what it is called) It is so soft! They make perfect audition leotards! Also, you can call and talk to the lady that distributes them. She is very nice and can help you decide what size you would need!

kdanowsk, I think what you were thinking of was meryl. My friends have degas leotards, and yes, they are AMAZINGLY soft! :) I really want one, and hopefully I will get my first one for my birthday! They have so many color choices, and they are really gorgeous!

I just have a quick question... what size would I probably be? I am either a petite or a small, leaning a little towards the small side. The degas leotard sizes are foreign to me, and I do not know what size I am at all! :D

If you are a petite or a small you would most likly wear a T1. But even the different styles fit slightly different. I wear a size small and my first degas leo was a T1 and it fits great. But some of my others I have had to send back for a T2. I would say it would be best to call and talk to someone, they can tell you if a leo is on the small side or the big side!

I got one for my birthday and it is the most comfortable leotard I have ever tried on and it really makes me look good. I would suggest that everyone should get one if they can afford it. But they run small! Just a warning
