Ballet Schools in England - Bath

Hi!

Im going to Bath in England for the fall semester 2008. I really want to keep on dancing this period. Does anyone know if there is any ballet (or any other kind of dance, like jazz or modern) studios over there?

I can't say that I've heard of any schools in Bath, but the town has been a resort since Roman times, and something of a cultural center for its region, so anybody else who knows, just jump right in. I'm moving this to Cross Talk for greater coverage.

NB Bristol & Bath are not very far apart, & there are good public transport links.

 

However, I have no experience of these studios personally, but they come from a quick search-engine browse, and searching on the British ballet messageboard, ballet.co.uk

And London is not so far for occasional drop in classes at Pineapple or Danceworks.

I did a google search and found a school in Radstoke, Bath where they have adult ballet classes - this is the contact e-mail address - suehill.dance@btinternet.com and this is the website www.susanhillschoolofdancing.co.uk. It might be worth trying - also you could try e-mailing the RAD at www.rad.org.uk or the ISTD at www.istd.org to enquire about registered teachers in the area.

Try The Drothy Coleborne School of Dancing in Bath. They have older teenagers and follow R.A.D. ballet plus tap and jazz. ballet teachers highly recommended.

Will you be at the University? I have several friends who have danced with the university's groups, which do have some ballet classes.

I can give you a telephone number this is obviously from the UK 01225 335087 I don't think they have a web site.

I don't know any individual schools in Bath, but there will be several in a town that size. Not all schools in UK have web sites. Once you have arrived in Bath the simplest would be to consult the local telephone directory "Yelow Pages". They should list all the schools.
