Benjamine Dupont After Marseille 2006

Recommended Posts

 I read recently some puzzling remarks posted on the Forum pro Aurelie Dupont, which said " Aurelie no longer has a sister" and the writer stated they hated to look at the photograph

that was featured to compare the likeness of the two sisters. I cannot find Benjamine on the Ballet National de Marseille site, which is where she danced possibly until 2006 as a Soloist.

I recollect seeing her mentioned on an advert for an American festival which included workshops in classical

and modern Ballet.

The implication in these comments makes one think the worst, which I find up-setting. Does anyone please have recent news. I have seen a Dupont Dance Academy mentioned in France also an American Dupont Studio. plus another in Leicester, UK.all on the Net. Any information would be much appreciated.

Here is the post you saw:

"je ne savais pas non plus qu'elle avait une soeur ^^

j'ai hate de voir les photo ..."

Here is the translation:

"I didn't know either that she had a sister. I looked at the photos in haste..."

No need to incite rumours! :)

Thank you very much for sorting out the translation on my post, it makes me wonder what I have been saying in letters etc, I do not speak French, and use a electronic service. I would never intentionally start rumours, this is not my nature. How the computer got it so wrong I do not know. What my computer had translated made me feel quite sad, and I am very relieved to find out it was a horrible error.Thank you for responding so quickly hopefully before any damage could be done. You're welcome, Nanarina. At least, it gave us a chance to know that Aurelie has a sister who is also a ballet dancer. I doubt many of us in North America knew that. :)

edited to add:

Since you said you used an online translator, I just went to one of the online translators I have bookmarked and entered the French post. Here is what I received as a translation:

I did not know either that it had a sister ^^

I am in a hurry to see the photograph

Looks like even I got the second part of the post wrong in my translation, summoning up the French I had learned back in school over 40 years ago. I stated that she looked at the photos quickly, but in fact, the poster is hastily on her way to look at the photograph. In any case, we have every reason to believe Benjamine is still around, dancing or not. :sweating: I did some googling research, too, as did you, and the online trail of her activities seems to stop at 2006.

It's interesting to find out that hâter means "to hurry" and hâte means "hurry" or "haste". It's always good to learn something new!

:grinning: Well I have learnt something too with regard to learning a different language I did not learn French at school, but German and a little Russian, but I cannot remember anything now, like you it was over 40 years ago. oh! how the years fly by. I use SDLT(Fee Paid) Desktop Translator. It was Google on the main index ISP Toucon.

There is no need to worry she's living in Paris now and is doing well.

Hi !

well, the right translation is "I didn't know she had a sister either. I look forward to seeing the photos"...

as a French balletomane, I confess I didn't know either... :innocent: but as for Dupont, it's the most common French surname !

Merci!!! I was hoping those of you who live there would come across this topic!!! :innocent:

:D

:clover: Thank you Cygneblanc for your re-assurance, that all is well, it is amazing to think it took a electronic trip half way across the world to finally get a translation sorted which should have been correct from the outset.

Do you know if Benjamine is still involved in the Dance World please ?

Thanks for the "final answer". I should have asked my husband to take a look at the second part. He's been a French teacher for over 43 years!

:D:wacko: The situation with the name Dupont is similar to the name Smith in the UK there are lots of them.
