nataliegenz
Hi all, I'm writing a paper for my cognitive linguistics class on the way ballet students understand the French vocabulary used in dance, and whether they associate literal meaning with it or think of it as an empty term. My question to you all is: Do you know of any documented sources with the history of some of this words? For instance, I've heard a couple funny stories about the origins of royale thanks to King Louis IX, but I can't find it published anywhere. I can't really just cite rumors for my paper, but I'd still like to hear them if you know any about other steps. Thanks! Natalie Edited May 30, 2008 by nataliegenz Link to comment
