Penaska Posted July 1, 2008 Report Share Posted July 1, 2008 Hello. As you can see I’m very new here, so please forgive me if I’m posting in the wrong area or what not! I’m going to be a senior this year and I’m looking into colleges. Butler is at the top of my list at the moment and I’m trying to find out everything I can about it. I’m only going to college for ballet, so that is the area I’m looking at in colleges. If you have any information at all I would love to hear it! Here are a few questions I have at the moment… Is Butler’s Dance program hard to get into/what is the audition like? Do you know anything about scholarships? What is the grading method? If you are a student there or were a student there… What is the schedule like from your personal point of view? What are some things you wish you knew before you went to Butler? We look forward to your joining our various discussions, etc. As for information on Butler, well, you've come to the right place! . . . but the wrong forum . We actually have a Forum titled: Colleges and Universities with Ballet Programs. In that forum, we have dedicated threads for each college program that folks have wished to discuss and share first-hand experiences. So, that is the place to look for answers to specific questions regarding specific programs. It is a place for you to drop in and visit the discussion and information on whatever college dance program hits your screen and thus, get a general idea about the individual programs. What we don't do is make specific recommendations or make direct comparisons between/among programs. That comparison, we leave to the individuals researching the programs. To get you started, here is the link to the dedicated Butler University thread: Butler If, after reading the whole thread, you still have specific questions, please do post them on that thread. (Same for any other programs that might catch your fancy. They are listed alphabetically in that forum).
