scdancergal1
At age 11 when i chose to do more ballet i was put up on point by a strict russian, however i was not getting the training i think i should have gotten as a begginer on point. I currently attend a great ballet studio however there point work is SOOO strong and i feel like a beginner still, however my other work, like in flats, is up to par. Somedays it gets so frustrating that i just want to quite but instead i just tell myself that it will come. But i want it to come faster so that i dont feel like im playing "Ketchup" for 08-09 dance session. HELP! [Title edited by moderator to correct the spelling of "pointe".] Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted July 31, 2008 Administrators Report Share Posted July 31, 2008 scdancer, ballet is not an instant art form. It is a long, slow process, and there is no magic pill to make it happen any faster. It takes years of good training, along with a great deal of patience and perseverance. You can't rush it. Do the work needed to catch up with the class at your newer school, and you will get there, but it is not going to happen over night. Quote Link to comment
