scdancergal1
Ive bean "studio hopping" since i was 11 and im fed up with it! I recently moved to South Carolina and i was dancing at a jazz studio for the whole summer. I was paying $300 a month for 12 hours/week of "recreational studio" level dance. I was content but not thrilled! The jazz was good but the ballet was just not what i was hoping for. I have bean taking at a more ballet oriented studio for about 2 weeks and i have made my decission to stay. I have yet to tell my teacher at the jazz studio but i dont exzactly know how to?! How do i put it and how can i let my friends know?! Edited August 2, 2008 by scdancergal1 Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 2, 2008 Administrators Report Share Posted August 2, 2008 You just tell her that you really want to study ballet more seriously. She knows what her studio is, you won't need to tell her. You have no obligation to remain at any studio. As for your friends, you just tell them. You don't need to say anything bad about the recreational studio, just say that you are going to attend a more serious ballet school, since ballet is your main focus. Actually, I'm a bit confused, because you said you were at the recreational school all summer, but on the other thread you said you attended a Summer Intensive with amazing teachers. Was I wrong to think that you were talking about ballet? Quote Link to comment
scdancergal1
Well this studio is supposibly a COMPANY studio and what i found frustrating was that it was more recreational and i was paying $300 a month, and what was even more frustrating was I had to pay for it this summer so... Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 2, 2008 Administrators Report Share Posted August 2, 2008 In your other post, on the thread about what you learned at your SI this year, you sounded like it was wonderful, and you said it was well worth the money. ??? Quote Link to comment
scdancergal1
Sorry to be confusing. That was a week of master classes at the beginning of summer and part of that was I was just happy to back into dance after 5 months but after that was finished i got to really expierance the studio and so called "company" and i wasnt so impressed!
