jlevine
My ballet teacher said I'm not jumping high enough. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Do what you're doing now, except jump higher! Put some OOMPH! into it! And welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers! Quote Link to comment
Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted August 7, 2008 Administrators Report Share Posted August 7, 2008 Welcome, jlevine Learning to use your demi plié really well and developing the correct use of the feet, the strength in the feet and calf muscles, and understanding the concept of elevation and rebound are all very important to jumping. Your teacher tells you to jump higher, fine, but, you should also be told and shown HOW to do that, or at least have it explained where your weakness is and why you have difficulty jumping higher. I would ask this teacher, if I were you. Quote Link to comment
