purpletutu
Just out of curiousity, does Gelsey Kirkland ever teach nowadays? If so, which SI or school? Quote Link to comment
vrsfanatic
Thus far, Gelsey Kirkland has not been employed by a company or a school as a full time teacher although there are quite a few dancers and students who have taken her class. She has been educated privately and at the Victoria College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia in the Vaganova program with someone from GITIS (the teacher's institute in Moscow, Russia). Keep reading the dance periodicals. Occasionally there are advertisements of her classes. Quote Link to comment

Russina
Gelsey Kirkland will be teaching 1 week of a 3 wk Summer Dance Camp in St. Paul, MN at Classical Ballet Academy of Minnesota! Also, Oksana Konobeyeva (my personal heroine) and Elizabeth Shipiatsky each will be teaching 1 week of this camp. Here's the link: http://www.summerdancecamp.com/CBAhtml/C2Summer.html I hope I can work it out to attend, it is one of those "it's close, it's affordable" opportunities my parents really like. Will there always be so many choices to make? I am guessing not. I want to be several places at once. Quote Link to comment
R.Mc
I took some classes from Ms Kirkland when I was in NY in the summer. It was quite a nice class, although she was injured when I was there so I didn't really get to see her demonstrate (which is really what I wanted to see). She worked a lot on epaulement and petit allegro. She picked up on my 'English training', after only a few exercises at the barre on my first day of classes with her. She seemed pretty perceptive. genevieve_1
Yes, Ms. Kirkland currently teaches in New York several times a week at Steps. www.stepsnyc.com She also teaches at various schools around the country for different summer intensives. I believe she teaches at a couple of schools in California and elsewhere. Check out Dance Magazine and Pointe Magazine's January issues. Quote Link to comment
cakers
Ms. Kirkland is scheduled to be in San Diego in late July, early August 2010. My daughter attended Northwest Dance intensive last year where Ms. Kirkland was teaching and absolutely loved her classes. Quote Link to comment
