There are a LOT of threads on fouettés on this forum, nycb2b. There are so many things involved, and often dancers are trying to do them before they are really technically ready or strong enough. How are your basic double en dehor pirouettes? How about consecutive relevé turns from 5th?

piroutettes r pretty good.. but my prob with piroutettes is that i tend to put my shoulders up or i put my arms too low. i kinda just tense up in the upper body.

PLEASE stop posting and read some of the responses to your other posts. I have edited some of your posts, deleted one which gave advice on a medical subject, and tried to explain some of our rules here.

I mean that I have responded to every post you have made tonight, and on one of the first ones explained to you how to learn how we work here. Please go back and read all of the places where you see that I have posted in the last 10 or 15 minutes. There are about 10 of them. I have edited some of your text speak, explained why, and also told you about not giving advice. Look at your post above and how I showed you what it should look like.

[Edited by moderator to try and show what I mean about the way she is posting. Newyorkcityballet2b, the post above should look like this: What other posts? Sorry, I'm new here and I have no idea what we are talking about.]

You have made at least 11 posts so far, in a very short time, without knowing what you are doing and understanding our rules and regulations. If you read the responses that I have made after your posts, you will understand. How old are you? I'm blocking your posting privileges for tonight, as I cannot stay here and fix every post you make.

We do not use numbers for words, u for you, ur for your, etc. We also ask people to please use proper capitalization and punctuation. I have shown you on two of your posts how what you wrote should look. Please go back and read the posts you have made so far tonight, and my responses. Thank you.

Ok. So, can You please help me with my fouettes now? =)

Also, one more question, am I allowed to post a new topic? I have another question.

Actually, my guess would be that you might not be quite ready for them. While there are exceptions, I very rarely have 13 year olds who are ready for fouettés. Work on getting your pirouettes solid, and practice consecutive turns from 5th. When those are solid, make sure that you understand how a fouetté works. Have you been taught how to do them? Practicing them incorrectly will only lead to bad habits that are very hard to break. I would not suggest that you practice them yet except when the teacher is giving them to you.

I cannot correct your fouettés without seeing what you are doing. I would need to see your placement, how strong your relevé is, how centered you are, how well you spot, and how well you understand the movement. The elements are all the same as for any pirouettes, but someone needs to be watching you to know what elements are missing or not being done correctly.

And now I am gone for tonight. Please do not post anymore until tomorrow.

Not tonight, please. No more posts.

I have been taught them. I'm just not that great at them. Yet, my friend who is also 13 does them perfectly. She is the only one in the class who can do them.
