Clara 76
futureABT- This might be a good time to learn how to deal with different personalities. Try to view this class as a challenge; your challenge is to relax and enjoy the class despite her indifference. I know of some teachers who do not like it when dancers dance to 'please' the teacher, or who don't dance for themselves. Now, I'm not saying you're doing those things, but since we can't change the teacher, all we can do is change how we deal with her. So next class, concentrate only on enjoying the movements that you're doing, and on making them better. You can do that by remembering corrections that your other teachers have told you, and applying them to the movements in this class. Also always imagine that there's an audience watching you. futureABTdancer
But the thing is I think she does like people who dance to please her because one girl is a show off and she doesnt even want to be a dancer when shes older... and when shes not watched she gets mad.And this teacher favors her and always gives her compliments. Clara 76
I've had teachers like that too, and my best advice still stands: This might be a good time to learn how to deal with different personalities. Try to view this class as a challenge; your challenge is to relax and enjoy the class despite her indifference. Since we can't change the teacher, all we can do is change how we deal with her. So next class, concentrate only on enjoying the movements that you're doing, and on making them better. You can do that by remembering corrections that your other teachers have told you, and applying them to the movements in this class. Also always imagine that there's an audience watching you Since she is not your only teacher, I wouldn't waste my time trying to curry her favor. It is not going to matter in the overall scheme of your life. Let it go. Ignore the class pet, and focus on yourself. Link to comment

Mel Johnson
who is this teacher? We're not going to let this question be answered, as it would involve a negative comment about someone who is not here to defend herself. This is part of our "gossip rule" and so, I'm closing this thread. Link to comment
