i'm thinking of trying out for the football team when i go back to regular school. (yes, i'm homeschooled.... bleh!!) so would it be a good idea to take school provided ballet and do the football team?

(P.S. yes, i'm a girl...... :D and i love football. i admit that i'm a bonehead when it comes to plays and technical terms, but i love the game!)

Are you wanting to become a professional ballet dancer or football player?

I love football, too, and I DO understand most plays and technical terms. That doesn't mean I can suit up and play. Without a basic understanding of how to play the game, you risk major injury.

There are certain physical attributes necessary to play football. Most females do not have them.

If you really want to play, go for it. But you risk injury that could spell an end to your dancing. While ballet training is great for football players, football training is NOT great for ballet dancers.

There ARE non-playing support roles on a football team. Have you though about that?

Ballet is not a sport, dear, it's an art.

Well, I suppose being on the football team wouldn't really hurt anything. I would just have to be extremely careful not to acquire any injuries.

You cannot be on the football team and be really careful not to get injured; it is not possible. You have to play full out if you're good enough to be on a team. You will take hits, my dear, no matter what position you play. Even if you play flag (or powderpuff) football, you can get hurt.

See if they need first aid or water helpers on the sidelines. Sell tickets to the games. But stay off the field if you intend to continue in ballet.
