Connecticut Ballet's Nutcracker

Recommended Posts

I'm in it, so I'll refrain from an official review, but will say it has the best Governess I've ever seen. (haha, that's me.)

Do you have a DD or DS in the show? I've really enjoyed working with the party scene kids - they are great!

We wrapped the shows in Granby yesterday and start again at St. Joseph's College in Hartford on Thursday.

Would a full review of this production be more appropriately posted on our sister board, "Ballet Talk"? There's a link to it at the top of the page.

There are many very experienced spectators, reviewers, and historians of ballet there.

MJ, thanks for making it to the show! Last night was a much better performance than the night before. During Wednesday's show, the music in party scene kept skipping so from the time Fritz breaks the Nutcracker until the beginning of battle, the same 6 bars of music played over and over (and over...). I was really impressed because the kids kept right on rolling as if everything was right.

The anticipated snow has arrived...a company member and I went out shopping before it got bad and it took me about 40 minutes to get back to the hotel. Stay warm and safe, everyone!
