Sorry I can't personally help you, but I could not imagine even asking this question, it boggles my mind. However, after doing a search on the internet, I found this link

http://russianballetcamp.com/index.html

which shows some type of russian ballet camp. They might be able to help you.

Hope this helps!

Hello.. reviving this thread to see if anyone has any new info; the links here pretty much go nowhere at this point. I'm going to be in Moscow and St. Petersburg next month and would love to take a class, but from my unsuccessful Googling to date, I sense there's not the adult ballet culture in Russia as elsewhere. Tantalus, did you end up taking a class when you were there?

Hi

if you speak Russian, I can send you some links. There are many such classes in Moscow, not so many in St Pete (I found only two). You can also check out pages of Vaganova academy and Bolshoi academy, they should have some seminars for foreign teachers (in English?).

Since I was going to StPete myself, I did only search on this city. (yandex.ru is the Russian net search engine of choice). I have not yet been to any of these classes myself!

For Moscow, there is much bigger choice: you just need to ask your Russian speaking friend to browse/search this forum:

However, one teacher in Moscow is worth mentioning - http://ilyaballet.com/ (Ilya Kuznetsov). He is teaching boys' class at Bolshoi Academy and he has an adult student class. His main website is http://www.ballet-school.ru/ This is how his adult class looks like: http://www.youtube.com/user/ilyaballet#p/u/3/RKXUCR7360g

Enjoy!

Many thanks, Olga! I especially enjoyed the YouTube, "Adult Ballet Class in Moscow," which somehow didn't come up when I previously Googled "Adult Ballet Class Moscow"!

Thank you again for the information, Olga. That's too bad you weren't able to visit the Vaganova Museum -- I'm surprised they wouldn't welcome any ballet lover, professional or not. My friend in Moscow heard about a drop-in class at the Stanislavky Theater on Monday, Wednesday and Friday -- do you know anything about those classes, such as what level they might be?

re the Vaganova Museum: Russian ballet secrets are protected like a national treasure - access is restricted to insiders only )))

I have not heard about the adult ballet classes at Stanislavsky Theatre. I googled for them (in Russian) and found nothing. I would be surprised if the classes are held at the Theatre exercise/rehearsal rooms - I thought these were for professionals only.
