professional dancers

Does anyone know of any female dancers that went professional but who only started in the 20's. I was told that it could never happen. Just wondering if there are any.

There was someone named Basheva (or perhaps Orzak) who used to post on this forum, in fact, who only started ballet in her early or mid 20's--after starting a family, no less! She had a performing career and taught, and now moderates her own forum at criticaldance. A very sensible and thoughtful lady, judging from her posts. But I would imagine that anyone who starts that late would have to naturally have a ballet body, good turnout, flexibility, feet, etc, and have to work very hard.
