The National Ballet of Canada announced today (in its 2012-13 season reveal) that it will be touring Alice in the US. More details will follow next month.

Edited to add: it will also be in the company's home season in Toronto in November 2012.

I am wondering if anybody else has noticed that the youTube video of the Red Queen in the Royal Ballet's Alice in Wonderland is gone? It is one of my favorites and I get a giggle every time I watch. Does anyone know why or if it will be reposted? I'm thinking that perhaps they want you to buy the video?

I recently bought the DVD of the Royal Ballet's Alice. It's absolutely brilliantly done! Beautiful dancing and a wonderful sense of humor. Even my non-dancing daughter (who is, I suppose, justifiably sick of ballet) loved it. After watching it, she even agreed to come to the ballet again with me and her dancing sister. Maybe a new convert to ballet thanks to Alice?

I actually was able to attend that at the Los Angeles Music Center, and it was absolutely breath-taking. The colours and costume originality was brilliantly original. Does anyone know who the costume designer was? I am in intrigued to see what other performances he/she has done.

Much appreciated :)

We saw Cincinnatti Ballet perform this a few weeks ago (with all the sets and costumes borrowed from Washington. It was amazing. The dancing, especially the partnering, was just incredible. The sets, the costumes, the music, the humor...we sat in awe. The White Rabbit was spectacular - in fact all the dancers had worked very hard to never break character. What a delight and an review article said they will be bringing it back someday! It was their second highest attended performance in history.

Thank you Victoria Leigh, much appreciated! :) I stumbled across this forum, and it has proved to be very useful and educational.

Saw the NBOC production on the weekend. Had seen it previously (different season, different cast). This is quite a theatrical production - something for everyone really. Costumes, staging, makeup, and lighting all superb.

Oh - dancing not bad either!
