marigold
Is anyone familiar with the open classes offered by Manhattan Youth Ballet? I am interested to hear from those who have taken them and if they are familiar with Nadege Hottier or Francois Perron. Quote Link to comment
keepsmeonmytoes
Even though the teachers are currently on the faculty of Manhattan Youth Ballet, the open classes are actually offered through Manhattan Movement and Arts Center. Francois Perron is a graduate of the Paris Opera Ballet, has danced with NYCB and ABT. Francois is the Artistic Director of Manhattan Youth Ballet and also teaches the "Billys" of Billy Elliott. His classes are at a pretty advanced level and dancers from ABT and NYCB take his class frequently. Nadege Hottier was trained in Europe and is known for her eye for detail. Deborah Wingert (NYCB) and Marina Stavitskaya (Kirov) also teach morning open classes and are on the faculty of Manhattan Youth Ballet. Manhattan Youth Ballet Company members take the 10:30 open ballet classes daily as their morning technique class. These classes are a great opportunity to take class with the Manhattan Youth Ballet faculty, their top level students and to get a feel for the school. Quote Link to comment
