Ballet Talk for Dancers

Photo shoot

Recommended Posts

I was asked to model for a photographer who wants to do a ballet shoot. As I haven't been dancing for a while because of a back injury, I was a bit apprehensive about it, but what he wants is to portray the grace and beauty of ballet, and not big or impressive poses, so I said yes.

I will need to practice pointe again, to be able to pose comfortably for a couple of hours. But I'm really excited about it, seems like a wunderful opportunity!

Congratulations! Be careful to avoid standing on pointe in uneven surfaces though! I did a photoshoot on a deck with wood planks and the boards were just warped enough for me to hurt my achilles tendon when I tried to stand up on pointe.

Hopefully everybody else is smarter than me in this department ;)
