Noodles, here is what my daughter said:  "It is Vaganova-esque.  Each teacher has their own style, but no one disagrees with each other."  (Meaning they are not saying that what one teacher said was wrong, do it this way, etc.)

Posters, please remember this is a GENERAL thread for folks to share basic information for others looking for pre-professional ballet schools in the Denver area.

Once you get to specific audition results, decisions,  and personal exchanges, the posts need to go somewhere else.

Classical Ballet Academy in Denver is a Vaganova program. They also have a 105c3 trainee program that is in the process of growing into a small company. (It is called Ballet Melange.) The Artistic Director and men's program teacher has connections to the state school and national ballet in Kiev, Ukraine. This brings faculty and guest faculty and choreographers from all over the world to work with their trainees and upper level pre-pro students in the Academy. The program was born out of frustration that pre-pro graduates are often not company-ready and get stuck in the apprentice or work for free without advanced training model and seem stuck for a couple years. One of their trainees just signed a contract for next season with the National Ballet in Kiev Ukraine. My DD has grown tremendously in this program and I am certain she never would have made this kind of progress toward being career-ready without going out of the country. It is a small student to teacher ratio and the culture is much more comforting for me than the other pre-pro programs we investigated.

Is there anything North of Denver?

No North Denver schools in the "Pre-Pro/ alums getting professional contacts" level. Classical Ballet Academy and their Trainee Program, Ballet Melange, are a block and a half from a station on the light rail line and they have dancers commuting via train from Fort Collins, Boulder and Longmont. It's nice option, for teens and up.
