Looking at feet

I always look at my feet to correct myself. My teachers are always trying to get me to look up. Is it bad to look down at my feet?

Looking down is not good. Unless it is built into the choreography, like in a cambré or with a port de bras, then dancers do not do it. Ballet is an elegant art form. Dancers are elegant. They don't look at their feet. You can look in the mirror when working to correct something, or to check things, but looking down at your feet is an absolute no no.
