I don't know where to go in the fall!

I'm 16, and I am having trouble deciding where to go in the fall. Last year I attended studio A in level 4(at the satellite).Next year, for level 5, I would have to drive an hour, and I will make the commute, because it is necessary for the training. However, Studio B is closer. To add to the mix is Studio C. It is closer by, and I know the Artistic Director from a summer program. I like the school, and I would be put in level 5 here, and moved to 6 halfway through the year. And, lastly, we have the Studio D. I would be placed in Intermediate here, and I could still do a nutcracker because they are doing a collaboration. With B and C, there is no Nutcracker. AGHHH! Any suggestions to a poor soul confused about where I'll acheive the most?

I apologize in advance if I'm not allowed to ask this question, I'm sort of new so I don't know if this is allowed or not....

Rose, I'm afraid you will have to figure out where you will get both the best and the most training, along with your ability to get to the school. Performance is also a factor, as that is an important part of your training. I'm not sure what your goals are, but at 16 I think you have a lot of catching up to do if you are thinking career. So, check out each program very carefully. Watch classes. Figure out the schedule. I would be wary of the trip to Russia being a major factor in the decision. Yes, it would be great fun, but, is it the most important thing right now?

We cannot tell you which school or teacher would be better, as we are not there to see the teachers and the programs. The only school where I personally know the directors is the Brookline Ballet School. That is the new school, right? With Trinidad Vives? I do know that she is an excellent teacher!

Yes it is, and her husband Parren Ballard. I know I have a lot of catching up, but I'm learning fast. My goal is to get into a really good college ballet program and then audition for companies, even though I know college isn't the normal route, I feel I need that time to hone my skills.

Sounds like a good plan, Rose. You have a lot of opportunities in your area, so I wish you the best of luck with your decision.
