plirae
Hello. I'm taking my advance found rad exam this year. I've seen youtube videos on students who have taken the syllabus and some of them have their pose jump derriere leg pretty low for galop. I am wondering which is a better line since the dance is rather fast. My teacher encourages me to have a high derriere leg when I do a pose jump, but I feel lighter and better doing a high jump but a low derriere leg. what are your opinions? thanks! Mel Johnson
One must remember what the step is used for. It's a linking step and rarely a primary pas. Keep it low, for as you note, the music (Galop) is plenty fast! The dancer should look as if skimming along the floor, so don't overemphasize the hop, either. Quote Link to comment
