Birmingham Southern shutting down dance department?

I have been told that BSC has begun the process of shutting down their dance major.

I was told that juniors and seniors may finish out their years, but freshmen and sophomores will have to find somewhere else to go.

I was almost done applying for this school when I heard the news, and I can't get in touch with them to find out if it's true.

Does anybody know?

It sounds like it. While I would not discount alumni coming to the rescue of a beloved program, it sounds like unless that happens it is a program ending. How sad!

How incredibly sad! There are still plenty of fine colleges offering dance majors, however. Please browse the thread.
