Aegina
Hi ,everyone. I'm 18 years old and I'm about to audition for a dance school. I would like to ask what are the creteria for a dance school audition, just in general. What separates you from the other dancers? Except of course from a good technique, a good physical condition, etc. What will catch the judge's eye? Please share your opinions.. Thank you. Administrators Victoria Leigh Posted October 5, 2010 Administrators Report Share Posted October 5, 2010 Welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers, Aegina. In addition to the physical facility and technique, auditioners for any program will be looking for a love of dance, an enthusiasm and passion that shows, musicality, artistry, a good line, and an ability to learn quickly and show that you can move in the way the teacher/choreorgrapher wants you to move. Taking corrections with a positive attitude and immediately trying to use the correction is also important. At 18, if your training has properly prepared you, and you have the physical attributes they are looking for, plus these things I have mentioned, your chances would be quite good. Link to comment
