HannahBean*Ballet
I am 15 I started dance when I was 11 but I only started point last year. I really long to be a professional Ballet dancer, but I'm affraid that I don't have enough skill as the girls that started when they were very young. Do you think I will still be able to achieve my dream? Quote Link to comment
Mel Johnson
Hi, Hannah, and welcome to Ballet Talk for Dancers. Just from those facts alone, I don't know of any sensible reason why you can't achieve professional-level status. However, a lot of other things can intervene that we or even you know nothing about, the crystal ball having proven unreliable anymore. Starting when you are 3 or 4 or 10 or 11, or whenever, as long as you have good training, really doesn't enter that much into skill level, as long as it's not last week. Find the best training you can, take good care of your body, make the most of what you have, and press on! Quote Link to comment

I edited your title and your post for you this time. Quote Link to comment
balletgirl29
Hi Hannah Just remember it is not about when you start out dancing but rather who has the passion and the drive to make it professionaly. If you really want this then you have to be able to push through all of these. I didn't start dancing until I was 10 but that doesn't mean you can't be just as good as the rest of them. Good Luck! Hope this helps! Quote Link to comment
